The Centre for Cities think-tank has produced its Cities Outlook for 2011, which is well worth a look. It presents a mixed picture for Britain's urban economies. Some cities are already bouncing back from the recession and appear poised to do well over the next few years - Milton Keynes, Reading, Aberdeen, Leeds and Bristol are mentioned as cities to watch. Others are likely to struggle in the face of public-spending cuts: the five most vulnerable cities picked out by Centre for Cities are Sunderland, Liverpool, Birkenhead, Swansea and Newport.
