The UK Film Council has just published figures on the British film market in 2010 (news item dated 20/01/11). It seems to have been a pretty good year for film, with box office takings of £1.08bn, up 2 per cent on the year before, of which 'British' films accounted for 22.6 per cent (this figure includes UK/US co-productions such as Inception). Toy Story 3 was the year's highest-grossing film.
The total UK production spend was £1.16bn in 2010, a new record.
